We’ve provided on campus locations, of course, but for the more adventurous types we’ve handpicked spots featuring the best coffee close to uni around Hobart and Launceston. We guarantee our picks will provide you with great taste and that little extra hit needed to complete those last minute assignments. 1. On Campus Options: Whilst you probably know about on campus outlets Lazenby’s and the Refectory in Sandy Bay and The Walk in Launceston, many other on campus options are available within short reach for a convenient caffeine hit. These include the coffee cart inside Morris Miller library, the Law Café at the law faculty, and satellite campus café’s such as Graze café at the Cradle Coast, Salutem in the Medical Science Precinct and the Hunter Street Arts Café. Most open around 8:30am and close at 4pm. 2. Yellow Bernard, Hobart: Renowned around Hobart for one of the best tasting coffee experiences, Yellow Bernard is not to be missed if you fancy yourself a coffee connoisseur (and what university student isn’t). Doctor Coffee, Salamanca: No stranger to this blog, Doctor Coffee has featured before for great free wifi, and its location in the heart of Salamanca together with quality coffee gets it in the list again. Open 7:30am – 4:00pm daily. 4. Liv Eat : Located in Magnet Court Sandy Bay, Liv Eat conveniently opens earlier and closes later than most. It also does a wide range of fresh salads, sandwiches and soups for vital study nutrients. Open 6:00 – 8:30 daily. 5. Courthouse Café, Hobart: Perfectly located in the heart of the city and right next to the medical science precinct, the Courthouse Café is a charmer of a spot for students high and dry in Hobart. Open 9:00am – 5:00pm 6. Sweet Brew, Launceston: For all our Launceston fans, Sweet Brew definitely lives up to its name. Open 7:00am – 5:00pm daily 7. CocoBean Chocolate, Launceston: For those that prefer a hot cup o’ coco, Cocobean is the perfect place for you. Don’t forget to sample some of their delicious homemade chocolate! Open 9:00am – 5:00pm 9. Pierre’s, Launceston: A restaurant that also serves late night coffee. There’s also a great bar and lounge at the back of the restaurant. Café bliss, Burnie: For those at the Cradle Coast campus, Café bliss is hard to beat in for great Burnie coffee just up the road from the Cradle Coast Campus. Free muffin with coffee!
