From semester two 2010 UTAS Library is expanding its trial of patron driven selection of eBooks to more subject areas. If you are studying in Education, Nursing, Psychology, Management & Tourism, Economics & Finance, Accounting & Corporate Governance, Library Science, Sociology & Social Work or Aboriginal Studies then you will now have the opportunity to recommend eBooks for purchase.
How it works
We load thousands of eBook details into the Library Catalogue, where you can find them. If you find something that looks useful you can view it for five minutes before Clicking “Request Loan” which triggers a request for purchase. A subject librarian will look at your recommendation and if it fits our collection development guidelines, we’ll buy the book and it will be available online 24 hours a day, on campus or from home.
We’re excited to let students and staff of the university have a more direct say in what is selected for the library and we hope you are too!
You can also look directly into the EBL Database to see what is available to read already as well as what you can recommend for purchase: Click here to access EBL
