Unistart

Unistart for Distance Education Students has just commenced, but it is not too late to sign up for this great resource.

Please note that this is a FREE online unit you will be able to access in MyLO from the time you enroll in Unistart until December 19. You need to apply to have access to this unit.  This unit is unfortunately not free for full-fee-paying international students.

Topics covered include (but are not limited to):

    * How to use online resources
    * How to write an essay
    * General help with Referencing
    * Summarising and Paraphrasing
    * Critical Thinking

In addition to the resources in the MyLO unit, optional live tutorials are offered in this unit via Web Conferencing (Elluminate).  These short, activity-focused tutorials are optional and held once a week (Thursday evenings from 8-9pm) for the first 6 weeks of the program (the third one will be held this Thursday evening). Students who miss these tutorials can view recordings of them.

You can enrol in UniStart from your eStudentCentre.

Access the eStudentCentre through the Current Students web-page. You  will need to vary your enrolment once you log in. The code for UniStart is XAA001. You will need to select the Distance option for Mode of Attendance, select Semester 2 and select Hobart as the study centre.

If you have difficulties, contact the eStudent Centre on 1300 361 928.

Note: 10th August 2010 is the census date for 2nd semester (cut-off date for all enrolments)
