24/7 access to Launceston Campus Library now available

24/7 access to level one of the Launceston Campus Library is now available to UTAS staff and students.
You will be able to access computers, study rooms and study carrels on level one, computers and photocopiers on the landing of level two, newspapers, vending coffee machine, cold water dispenser and toilets.
This new service is the solution for students who work part or full time, and for others who simply want the option of being able to study in a secure environment away from their home, at any time of the day or night.
Monitored security cameras, regular security patrols and a direct phone line to security staff will provide that security.
Please ensure that you carry your swipe card and student ID with you at all times

New library guide for UTAS general and professional staff

UTAS general and professional Staff are welcome to use all UTAS libraries and explore the extensive range of books, DVDs, newspapers, and online information resources.

The new library guide introduces you to library resources – whether this is for recreation, professional development, or general interest.

General or professional staff who are undertaking further study should please contact a Liaison Librarian for specific subject help, or consult the appropriate subject guide.

So how did we do?

The Library publishes a brochure entitled Library Client Services which describes the service standards we aim to achieve and encourages you to give feedback and make suggestions for improving our services. It includes targets for getting new items onto the Library shelves, for delivering items held in other branches of the Library, for making available exam papers and Reserve material and for responding to your feedback.

So how did we do?

Our performance against these services standards in 2009 was very good – well ahead of targets in a number of areas. Click http://www.utas.edu.au/library/about/documents/service-performance-2009.pdf to see the results.
