High returns on salary with a UTAS degree! University of Tasmania September 24, 2018 Featured, UTAS The University of Tasmania (UTAS) has the second-highest graduate starting salary amongst Australian universities and is also amongst Australia’s top universities for social equity and student-to-teacher ratio, according to the 2019 Good Universities Guide. With a median starting salary of $62,600, the University had the second-highest average starting salary for its graduates in Australia – excellent news for our current and upcoming graduates and an indication of the industry focus and quality of our degrees. UTAS’ ongoing commitment to providing personalised teaching was also recognised with the University receiving a five-star rating for its student-to-teacher ratio of 20 to one or less. It was one of only 12 universities to receive this rating. The University’s other five-star rating came in the social equity category, which measures an institution’s proportion of commencing students from low socioeconomic backgrounds. UTAS was ranked in the top 10 in Australia with 24 per cent. The Good Universities Guide ranks institutions across a variety of categories, including student retention, student demand, staff qualification, the percentage of students to go into full-time work, and the overall student experience and is produced through Good Education Group.
