Richard Eccleston on Radio National: Marginalia – Braddon, Tasmania
Professor Richard Eccleston featured on Radio National on Sunday 5 June in an interview with Rose Bolger about Braddon in Tasmania.
Since its inception, the seat of Braddon has gone from being a conservative stronghold, to one that’s been shared between the two major parties from the late 1950s onward.
Now a classic blue collar seat, that hasn’t stopped traditional Labor voters from turning against the party, particularly over issues involving the economy and employment.
Braddon is currently held by the Liberal party’s Brett Whiteley by a margin of 2.6 per cent.
