Learning pyramid for student interactions during PEP


While students are undertaking PEP,  students are encouraged to watch a demonstration, reflect on the process and discuss their learning.  Work integrated learning provides the opportunity to learn in situ and this pyramid visually demonstrates the opportunity provided by undertaking PEP. Once students are confident and able to undertake an activity a method to reinforce their learning would be to ask them to show another student (with appropriate supervision) their learning.  In a supportive environment peer interaction is a powerful way for students to gain information and critically appraise one another. These activities also assist students in gaining skills in communication,  while developing attributes they will require as a registered nurse.
