August 2017 igrad improvements

We are pleased to advise that the next group of improvements completed as part of this project have been released. These improvements are listed in the table below. These enhancements will assist in the monitoring and completion of key candidature milestones, provide increased visibility for GRCs of candidate and supervisor confirmation and annual review forms, and provide Heads of School with a new view on their dashboard that will list candidates for whom a thesis is awaiting approval, prior to the examination commencing.

Summary HDR area of improvement Description
Allow GRCs to access supervisor and candidate confirmation and annual review forms  Candidature      Management Enhancements have been made which will improve the visibility of candidate and supervisor confirmation and review forms.  These enhancements will aid Graduate Research Coordinators (GRCs) in ensuring key candidature milestones are completed on time, and enable issues raised to be dealt with in a timely manner.
iGRad – Amend Applicant tabs (Scholarships) to reflect change to RTP     Admissions The list of scholarships contained in the Scholarship Tab of the Faculty Recommendation within iGRad, now reflects Research Training Program (RTP) stipend.

Any applications received prior to 1 January 2017 will still reflect Australian Postgraduate Award, and applications received from 1 January 2017 onwards have been updated to reflect Research Training Program (RTP) stipend.

These amendments are to ensure compliance with new Commonwealth legislation.

Add Candidates awaiting HoS approval of Thesis submission to Dashboard    Examinations In addition to receiving an auto generated email from iGRad, Heads of School (HOS) will now see a new section in their dashboard labelled “Thesis Submissions Awaiting Approval”.  This will contain a list of candidates who have uploaded their thesis into iGRad for approval by the Head of School, in order to progress to the next stage of the examination process.

This will help to lessen delays associated with seeking HOS approval due to emails being lost or forgotten as a result of the volume of emails received.
