Scott’s Demise

Following the recent celebrations of the centenary of Mawson’s expedition, today’s Times has an article on the recent re-discovery of a letter by a member of Scott’s expedition that predicts their demise.  The Times writes

 “We have had a long struggle against intense cold on very short fuel,” wrote Edward Wilson in March 1912, as a snowstorm raged outside the canvas walls of their tent. “It has done us up.”
