5 minutes with… Aryelle Sargent, Administration Officer – Community Engagement, Rural Clinical School

What is your favourite film and book?Aryelle Sargent (Small)

My long-time favourite film is Moulin Rouge. The music, the combination of humour and tragedy, and the way colour is used to set the scene are just some of the reasons I love this film.

My favourite book is Diana Gabaldon’s Cross Stitch (renamed Outlander for the TV show). Diana has a way with words that transports the reader back in time, as if they are experiencing the story firsthand.

What makes you laugh?

My partner’s jokes. He is endlessly looking for ways to make me laugh.

Tell us one thing on your ‘must do’ list for the future.

Live in Europe for a time.

What is the best part about living in Tasmania?

The lifestyle, the fresh produce, and the innovative minds that live here.

What do you like most about your work?

My view of Table Cape.

Tell us one thing that might surprise people about you.

My mother wanted to call my elder sisters Aryelle, but held off because it was “too weird.”  The Little Mermaid was released the year before I was born, which meant my mother finally felt comfortable naming her child Aryelle.
