What is your favourite film and book? Geoff Rickards and partner

I like many movies but don’t really have a favourite. I do like to re-watch episodes of The West Wing and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. As for books, I read a lot of science fiction fantasy, but my favourite book is Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen.

What makes you laugh?

The antics of the Dickson and Blizzard lab groups provide much laughter at work.

Tell us one thing on your ‘must do’ list for the future.

I plan to get to Antarctica in the next 3 years. I would love to see an Ashes test match at Lord’s, but those tickets are hard to come by!

What do you consider to be the best part about living in Tasmania?

I really enjoy being able to live where I can walk to work and only be a short drive away from hiking, wine and photographic opportunities.

What do you like most about your work?

I love trying to understand how the brain works, but mostly I enjoy interacting with my lab members.

Tell us one thing that might surprise people about you.

The last yoga class I took was in the London Eye.
