College of Health and Medicine


Dear Colleagues,

As you are aware, the Menzies Institute for Medical Research will join the School of Health Sciences, School of Medicine and Wicking Dementia Research and Education Centre in the newly formed College of Health and Medicine from 1 January 2018.

The College Transition Steering Committee, comprising Heads and Directors from all the organisation units, has been reviewing committee structures and governance across the new College model. In addition, the joint 2018 College Plan we presented at the Vice-Chancellor’s Annual Review has been distilled into a Plan on a Page that we will be releasing across the College in December.

We will be holding a series of meetings in December that will allow you to hear more about the College structure, meet the College Management Team and understand the priorities in the Plan on a Page. There will be time for discussion and questions in the formal presentation followed by refreshments.

  • Hobart: Monday, 4 December, 3.30pm at the Medical Sciences Precinct – staff at Sandy Bay Campus are encouraged to attend.
  • Rozelle: Monday, 11 December, noon
  • Launceston: Friday, 15 December, 11am
  • Burnie: TBC
