New Staff Intranet coming in July

As you may have read in recent Staff Newsletters, in late 2017 a major project was established to create a modern, responsive and personalised digital workplace to provide ‘one place to go’ for staff communications, collaboration, content and activities – that is away from public view.

The new intranet workplace on the O365 SharePoint Online platform easily connects staff to the suite of collaboration tools available such as Yammer, Delve and Teams.

The new intranet is being piloted with a limited release throughout May and June within the Change Network.

User Acceptance Testing

User Acceptance Testing (UAT) has been undertaken and feedback has been very positive. As part of this process, some minor glitches, such as a few links not working correctly, have been identified and can be easily rectified.

The UAT group have been impressed with the functionality and look and feel of the new staff intranet. Here are some of the comments from testers:

‘I found the overall experience was good. I liked the look and feel, it was easy to use and navigate my way around, the tools section is definitely the most popular part and would be the first point that staff would be looking for…’

‘I found navigating around site quite easy and user-friendly. I also really liked that the “Tools” icon was available on each page after leaving the home page, I think that will be really handy once everyone starts using the site.’

‘Got stuck into my UAT testing today! It’s great to get in there and play around with the new site and think about how our team will be using it to communicate across the organisation. It’s clean, it seems straightforward and easy to use… Bring it on!’
